But Ivan didn’t let his idea die down as he established a contract with “Lupis“, a factory in Rijeka where he mass manufactured torpedos. Becoming the most used weapon in Submarines, the devastating power being quite useful to destroy enemy ships and other submarines.
Pršut (Prosciutto) – Whilst Prosciutto isn’t only specific to Croatia, most locals always talk about knowing a person that makes the best Prosciutto. Safe to say you’ll have difficulty exploring Croatia without hearing about this delicacy being mentioned by the locals.
Nikola Tesla – Widely regarded as the true father of electricity (Sorry Thomas Edison). Nikola Tesla was a serbian-american born in Smiljan, present day Croatia territory. The man being a blatant genius as he went on to create several ingenious inventions and discoveries like: Alternating current, Tesla coils, X-ray photography and many more inventions that are in the present day. Whilst it’s true that Nikola Tesla was considered “strange”, having a preference to keep to a schedule for eating and having his meals served by a particular waiter; he was also a germaphobe.
